Reactivation

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, AND NOTES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE.

All vehicles
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute.







SuperCrew with safety belt retractor pretensioners
2. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the driver side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







3. Connect the driver side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







4. Align the driver side B-pillar trim panel and push in, seating the B-pillar trim panel retaining clips.







5. Install the driver side B-pillar assist handle.
1 Position the B-pillar assist handle.
2 Install the screws.
3 Install the caps.







6. Install the B-pillar weatherstripping.







7. Position the safety belt guide. Install the nut. Close the safety belt guide cover.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY BELT WEBBING IS NOT TWISTED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.

CAUTION: Inspect the shoulder safety belt guide cover for damage. If the shoulder safety belt guide cover is damaged or if it does not remain closed, install a new shoulder safety belt guide cover.







8. Install the driver side rear scuff plate.







9. Install the driver side front scuff plate.







10. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the passenger side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







11. Connect the passenger side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







12. Align the passenger side B-pillar trim panel and push in, seating the B-pillar trim panel retaining clips.







13. Install the passenger side B-pillar assist handle.
1 Position the B-pillar assist handle.
2 Install the screws.
3 Install the caps.







14. Install the B-pillar weatherstripping.







15. Position the safety belt guide. Install the nut. Close the safety belt guide cover.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY BELT WEBBING IS NOT TWISTED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.

CAUTION: Inspect the shoulder safety belt guide cover for damage. If the shoulder safety belt guide cover is damaged or if it does not remain closed, install a new shoulder safety belt guide cover.







16. Install the passenger side rear scuff plate.







17. Install the passenger side front scuff plate.

18. From under the driver seat, remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the driver seat safety belt buckle pretensioner floor electrical connector.







19. From under the driver seat, connect the driver seat safety belt buckle pretensioner electrical connector.







20. From under the passenger seat, remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the passenger seat safety belt buckle pretensioner floor electrical connector.







21. From under the passenger seat, connect the passenger seat safety belt buckle pretensioner electrical connector.

22. Remove the driver safety belt retractor pretensioner bolt.
23. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the driver side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.
24. Connect the driver safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.
25. Position the driver safety belt retractor pretensioner back in place and install the bolt to 40 Nm (30 Lb-Ft).
26. Install the driver door scuff plate.
27. Remove the passenger safety belt retractor pretensioner bolt.
28. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the passenger side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.
29. Connect the passenger safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.
30. Position the passenger safety belt retractor pretensioner back in place and install the bolt to 40 Nm (30 Lb-Ft).
31. Install the passenger door scuff plate.







Regular cab with safety belt retractor pretensioners
32. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the driver side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







33. Connect the driver side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







34. Position the safety belt through the driver side lower corner trim panel.







35. Position the driver side lower corner trim panel and push in near the door jamb, seating the retaining clips. Install the three pin-type retainers.







36. Install the weatherstripping and the driver door scuff plate.
37. Install the driver side corner upper trim panel.







38. Install the driver side safety belt guide.
1 Position the safety belt guide.
2 Install the nut.
3 Close the safety belt guide cover.

CAUTION: Inspect the shoulder safety belt guide cover for damage. If the shoulder safety belt guide cover is damaged or if it does not remain closed, install a new shoulder safety belt guide cover.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY BELT WEBBING IS NOT TWISTED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.







39. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the passenger side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







40. Connect the passenger side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







41. Position the safety belt through the passenger side lower corner trim panel.







42. Position the passenger side lower corner trim panel and push in near the door jamb, seating the retaining clips. Install the three pin-type retainers.







43. Install the weatherstripping and the passenger door scuff plate.
44. Install the passenger side corner upper trim panel.







45. Install the passenger side safety belt guide.
1 Position the safety belt guide.
2 Install the nut.
3 Close the safety belt guide cover.

CAUTION: Inspect the shoulder safety belt guide cover for damage. If the shoulder safety belt guide cover is damaged or if it does not remain closed, install a new shoulder safety belt guide cover.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY BELT WEBBING IS NOT TWISTED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.







All vehicles
46. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the passenger air bag electrical connector.







47. Connect the passenger air bag module electrical connector.







48. Install the instrument panel relay cover.







49. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the clockspring electrical connector at the base of the steering column.







50. Connect the clockspring electrical connector at the base of the steering column.







51. Install the lower instrument panel steering column cover.
1 Position the cover.
2 Install the six bolts.
3 Connect the hood release lever. Install the two bolts.
4 Connect the parking brake release lever. Install the two bolts.







52. Install the central junction box panel cover.







53. Install the upper instrument panel steering column cover.
54. Connect the battery ground cable
55. With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS).

WARNING: THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TOOL IS FOR RESTRAINT SYSTEM SERVICE ONLY. REMOVE FROM VEHICLE PRIOR TO ROAD USE. FAILURE TO REMOVE COULD RESULT IN INJURY AND POSSIBLE VIOLATION OF VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS.

56. Check the active restraints system for correct operation.
