Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

WARNING: THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEM CONTAINS FUEL VAPOR AND CONDENSED FUEL VAPOR. ALTHOUGH NOT PRESENT IN LARGE QUANTITIES, IT STILL PRESENTS THE DANGER OF EXPLOSION OR FIRE. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE FROM THE BATTERY TO MINIMIZE THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ELECTRICAL SPARK OCCURRING, POSSIBLY CAUSING A FIRE OR EXPLOSION IF FUEL VAPOR OR LIQUID FUEL ARE PRESENT IN THE AREA.







2. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector and the evaporative emissions vacuum control hose.







3. Disconnect the two fuel vapor tubes.
1 Disconnect the EVAP canister purge outlet tube.
2 Disconnect the evaporative emission return tube.







4. Remove the bolts and remove the valve.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Leak Test the system. Evaporative Emission System Leak Test
