Child Seat Tether Attachment: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

SuperCab vehicles
1. Remove the seat backrest.

Regular and CrewCab vehicles







2. Remove the bolt and the child safety seat tether anchor.

NOTE: The RH side is shown, all others are similar.

3. Remove the bolt and the child safety seat tether anchor.

NOTE: The RH side is shown, all others are similar.

INSTALLATION

All vehicles
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Refer to the above images for torque specifications.
^ For SuperCabs, after seat backrest installation, make sure the child safety seat tether anchor strap is accessible and not trapped between the seat backrest and cab back panel.

WARNING: IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE BOLT/ANCHOR BE SECURELY TIGHTENED TO SPECIFICATION. OTHERWISE, THE CHILD'S SAFETY SEAT MAY NOT BE CORRECTLY SECURED, AND THE CHILD CAN BE INJURED IN CASE OF A SUDDEN STOP OR ACCIDENT.

NOTE:
^ Rework the sheet metal to its original condition and structural integrity.
^ Make sure to tighten the bolts to specification.

2. Check the active restraints for correct operation.
