Brake Pedal And Bracket

Removal and Installation
All vehicles
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.





2. Remove the fuse panel cover.





3. Remove the stoplight switch retaining pin.





4. Slide the stoplight switch and booster push rod from the brake pedal pin.





Vehicles with adjustable pedals
5. CAUTION: The brake pedal and the accelerator pedal must be in same position before removal. The pedals must be in the completely forward (toward the driver) or completely rearward (away from the driver) position.

NOTE: On vehicles equipped with memory adjustable pedals, the wiring harness, motor and cable is removed as a complete assembly.

Remove the brake pedal-to-accelerator pedal cable from the accelerator pedal by pulling the cable retainer outward.





6. Disconnect the brake pedal motor electrical connector.





All vehicles
7. Remove the brake pedal and bracket retaining nuts and bolts.
8. Position the brake booster assembly out of the way.
9. Remove the brake pedal and bracket.





10. CAUTION: The brake pedal and the accelerator pedal must be in the same position before installation. The pedals must be in the completely rearward (away from the driver) position.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
