Leak Detection Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the evaporative emission canister.







2. Remove the retainer by sliding it off the bracket.







3. Remove the canister vent solenoid.

NOTE:
^ Inspect and install new O-ring seals as necessary.
^ A twisting and pulling motion is necessary to remove the evaporative emission canister vent solenoid.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Carry out the evaporative emission system leak test. Evaporative Emission System Leak Test
^ Carry out the evaporative emission repair verification drive cycle. Evaporative Emission Repair Verification Drive Cycle

NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring seals with MERPOL(R) O-Ring Seal Lubricant or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M99B144-B.
