Special Tools(s)

Removal
1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the fan and fan clutch.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt.
4. Disconnect the engine harness from the water pump mounting stud and the water bypass tube.





5. Remove the A/C support bracket.
1 Remove the nuts and the bolt.
2 Loosen the bolt.
3 Rotate the A/C support bracket out of the way.





6. Remove the bolts and the pulley from the water pump.





7. Remove the screw and the bypass tube from the water pump.
8. Raise the vehicle.
9. Remove the underbody splash shield.
10. Remove the lower radiator hose from the water pump.
11. Lower the vehicle.





12. Remove the (A) bolts and the (B) stud bolts from the (C) water pump. Remove the water pump from the (D) front cover.
13. Clean the gasket surfaces.

Installation











1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the stud bolts, bolts, and nuts in the sequence shown.
