Shift Cable: Adjustments

1. Place the transmission range selector lever in the (D) position.
- Place a 1.4 Kg (3 lb) weight on the transmission range selector lever.





2. Release the shift cable terminal lock at the manual control shift outer lever.
3. Move the manual control lever in the (D) position.
4. Close the shift cable terminal lock.
5. Remove the 1.4 Kg (3 lb) weight.
6. Carefully move the manual control lever from detent to detent and compare with the transmission settings. Verify that the vehicle will start in PARK or NEUTRAL and backup lamps illuminate in REVERSE. If not, Steps 1-5 must be repeated and include the digital transmission range (DTR) sensor adjustment in NEUTRAL.
- Adjust as necessary.
