Shift Indicator - A/T: Adjustments

1. Remove the screws and the instrument panel steering column cover.





2. Remove the screws and the steering column cover reinforcement.





3. Remove the screws and the steering column opening brace.





4. Loosen the nut.
5. Place the transmission control selector lever in the (D) position.
6. Hang a 1.4 Kg (3 lb) weight on the transmission control selector lever.





7. Center the pointer in the middle of the (D) position.
- Rotate the thumb wheel located on the bottom of the steering column to adjust the pointer.
8. Remove the 1.4 Kg (3 lb) weight.





9. Tighten the nut.
10. Carefully move the shift control selector lever from detent to detent and compare with transmission settings.
- Readjust if necessary.





11. Install the steering column opening brace and screws.





12. Install the steering column cover reinforcement and screws.





13. Install the instrument panel steering column cover and screws.
