Transaxle Cooling

Transaxle Cooling System-3.0L and 3.8L Without Trailer Towing Package

Transaxle Cooling System-3.8L With Towing Package

The transaxle fluid cooling consists of an integral fluid cooler in the radiator and cannot be repaired separately.

Vehicles equipped with the trailer towing package are also equipped with an external oil-to-air (OTA) fluid cooler. A portion of the external transaxle fluid cooler is also used for power steering fluid cooling.

In operation, the transmission fluid travels from the transaxle to the transaxle fluid cooler in the radiator, then returns to the transaxle.

On vehicles equipped with the external OTA transaxle fluid cooler, the transmission fluid travels from the transaxle to the transaxle fluid cooler in the radiator, from the radiator to the OTA fluid cooler, then returns to the transmission.
