Reactivation Procedures
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.WARNING: THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS MUST BE REMOVED AND THE AIR BAG MODULES RECONNECTED WHEN THE SYSTEM IS REACTIVATED TO AVOID NON-DEPLOYMENT IN A COLLISION, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
2. Wait at least one minute for the backup power supply in the Restraints Control Module (RCM) to deplete its stored energy.
3. Remove the front restraint system diagnostic tool from the air bag sliding contact connector.
4. Reconnect the driver air bag module.
5. Install the steering wheel access panel.
6. Remove the front restraint system diagnostic tool from the passenger air bag connector.
7. Reconnect the passenger air bag electrical connector.
8. Restore the glove box to its installed position.
1 Push in the sides of the glove box to allow clearance for the stop bumpers.
2 Swing the glove box upward to its installed position.
9. Remove the side restraint system diagnostic tools and reconnect the driver and passenger side air bag connectors beneath the seats.
10. Reconnect the battery ground cable.
11. Prove out the system.
