Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation
1. Raise the vehicle.





2. Remove the drain plug and drain the engine oil.





3. Remove the oil filter.





4. Remove the oil filter housing bolts.





5. Remove the (1) oil pump drive gear, the (2) oil pump driven gear, the (3) oil pump O-ring seat and the (4) oil pump cover. Discard the (3) oil pump O-ring seal.
6. Inspect the components, if necessary.





7. Inspect the face of the oil pump for flatness.

8. Note: Lubricate parts with Super Premium SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G before assembly.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
