Parking Brake Lever: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation
1. Pull out on the bottom of the boot to disengage it from the plastic retainer.
2. If necessary, pull the control handle upward.





3. CAUTION: The control boot is held in position by a small plastic retaining tab that engages a notch in the control handle. Failure to use care when removing the boot can result in damage to the tab and unnecessary replacement of the boot.

Using a small screwdriver, carefully lift the retainer tab, and slide the boot upward.





4. Remove the rod.
1. Lift upward on the spring.
2. Bend the rod away from the handle.
3. When the tab on the rod clears the tube, pull the rod from the control.





5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Press downward on the end of the rod when it contacts the control.
