ISSUE
The A-pillar trim may become warped as a result of stress from the expansion and contraction of the material due to temperature changes.

ACTION

Replace the A-pillar trim piece, eliminate the lower retaining clip, and cut a slit in the base of the middle retaining clip. This should reduce the possibility of warpage. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the warped A-pillar trim from vehicle.

2. Obtain a new A-pillar trim from service stock.





3. Remove the # 3 retaining clip (bottom of trim piece) by cutting off the plastic sail area (Figure 1).





4. Cut two slits approximately 10 mm long into the plastic base of # 2 clip (# 2 clip is located middle of trim piece) at the two areas indicated (Figure 2).

5. Install the reworked trim piece onto the A-pillar
