WDS Oscilloscope - Quick Reference Guide
Refer to Figure 5.
Select the "Toolbox" icon at the top left of the screen.
^ Select "Oscilloscope" and press the "Tick" (check) mark.
^ Select "Configure Channels & Probes" by pressing the first icon at the lower left side of the screen.
^ Select "Red & Black Probe Differential" on the RH side of the screen.
^ Press "Select Channel Calculations" (third icon lower left side of the screen) and choose "Frequency".
^ Select "Oscilloscope" (fourth icon on lower left side of the screen).
^ Set "Time Base Parameters" by pressing the "X" scale icon (third from top center of the screen).
^ Select the "Down" arrow and "200 ms/div" and press the "Tick" (check) mark
^ Set "Time Base Parameters" by pressing the "Y" scale icon (second from top center).
^ Select "15V/div" and press the "Tick" (check) mark.
^ Hook the "B-203" cable to the Portable Test Unit (PTU) and the vehicle Data Link Connector (DLC).
^ Insert the red probe into the C1 port on the PTU and the black probe into the C2 port of the PTU.
^ Position the weatherstrip out of the way.
^ Position the left or right lower B-pillar trim panel out of the way, disconnect the contact pad connector inside the B-pillar, and probe Circuits 1251 (YEL/RED) and 1227 (WH). NOTE: USE ADAPTER TIPS FROM WDS KIT # 418-F264 OR EQUIVALENT. THE RED AND YELLOW MALE PIN ADAPTERS ARE RECOMMENDED.
^ Reconnect the contact pad connector and connect the red and black probes to the adapter tips.
^ Start the engine and activate the oscilloscope by pressing the "Right Arrow" icon at the top right corner of the screen.
^ Operate the sliding door. As the door starts to latch, waveforms will appear on the screen.
^ When the waveforms appear, touch the "Pause Screen" icon (second from the top right of the screen to pause the reading). If two (2) waveforms are not on the screen, re-activate the scope, operate the door, and pause the screen as the waveforms appear.
^ Select the "A" icon at the right center of the screen and use the "Right Arrow" key at the right center of the screen to move the "A" cursor to the first falling edge of the signal.
^ Select the "B" icon at the right center of the screen and use the "Right Arrow" key to move the "B" cursor to the second falling edge of the signal.
^ Read the secondary-to-primary latch time in milliseconds at the bottom right of the screen. The recorded time is shown in the lower RH display box.
^ If the reading exceeds 200 ms for the right door or 160 ms for the left door, adjust/re-adjust the door and retest.
^ If the reading is within limits, remove the adapter tips and reposition the B-pillar trim and weatherstrip.
