Timing Drive Components-Outer Cover
Removal1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the fan shroud.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the fan shroud
- Position out of the way.
3. Loosen the bolts on the water pump pulley, but do not remove them at this time.
4. Remove the drive belt.
5. Remove the water pump pulley and the fan and clutch assembly.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the water pump pulley
6. Recover the refrigerant from the air conditioning system.
7. Disconnect the A/C wiring connector.
8. Remove the A/C compressor from the A/C compressor mounting bracket.
9. Remove the A/C compressor mounting bracket with the power steering pump attached. Position out of the way.
10. Remove the outer timing belt cover.
- Remove the screw.
- Release the interlocking tabs.
- Remove the outer timing cover.
Installation
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Install the A/C compressor mounting bracket, three bolts and one stud.
- Tighten the M10 bolts and stud to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the M8 bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
