Fuel Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair

Tank Temperature Sensor

REMOVAL
1. Perform the pressure relief/fuel line venting procedure. Refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction. Fuel Pressure Release
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.







4. Remove the tank temperature sensor.
1 Disconnect the tank temperature sensor electrical connector.
2 Remove the tank temperature sensor.

INSTALLATION







1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

NOTE:
^ Replace the tank temperature sensor O-ring seal.
^ Lubricate the tank temperature sensor O-ring seal with Super Premium SAE5W-30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G or equivalent prior to installation, to help seal and ease the installation.
