Flex Plate: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Remove the transmission.





2. Remove the bolts and remove the flywheel.
3. Clean and inspect the flywheel.

Installation





1. Note: Sealant must be removed from the bolt holes prior to reassembly.

Note: If reusing the bolts, clean sealant from the bolts and apply Pipe Sealant with Teflon (R) D8AZ-19554-A or equivalent meeting Ford specifications WSK-M2G350-A2 and ESR-M18P7-A. Do not apply sealant to the new bolts. They come with sealant on them.

Position the flywheel and install the bolts.
2. Install the transmission.
