Flex Plate: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Remove the transmission.
2. On manual transmission-equipped vehicles, remove the clutch.





3. Remove the flywheel.

Installation
1. Inspect the flywheel.





2. Install the spacer, flywheel, and tighten the bolts in sequence in two steps:
1 Tighten to 13 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
2 Tighten to 71 Nm (52 ft. lbs.).
3. On manual transmission-equipped vehicles, install the clutch.
4. Install the transmission.
