Removal
1. Disconnect the battery.





2. Disconnect the air cleaner assembly.
1. Loosen the worm clamps.
2. Remove the air cleaner bracket bolts and pull the air cleaner away from its mounts.





3. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.





4. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor connector.
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
6. Disconnect the Differential Pressure Feedback EGR (DPFE) transducer connector and hoses.





7. Disconnect the evaporative emissions return tube located under the throttle body.
8. Remove the engine cover.





9. Disconnect the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve from the RH valve cover.





10. Disconnect the vacuum supply hose from the intake manifold.





11. Remove the transmission oil level indicator tube retaining nut. Position the tube bracket aside.





12. Disconnect the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) and the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) solenoid electrical connectors.





13. Disconnect the IMRC and the EGR solenoid vacuum connectors.





14. Disconnect the spark plug separators from the valve covers.





15. Disconnect the ignition wires from the spark plugs.





16. Remove the IMRC/EGR mounting bracket.





17. Remove the valve cover and discard the gasket.
18. Clean the cover mating surface.

Installation





1. Install the valve cover and new gasket. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





2. Connect the ignition wires to the spark plugs and the separators.
3. Install the IMRC/EGR bracket. Tighten to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).





4. Connect the PCV valve to the valve cover.





5. Connect the electrical and vacuum connectors to the IMRC and the EGR solenoids.





6. Position the transmission oil level indicator bracket and install the nut. Tighten to 13 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
7. Connect the DPFE transducer hoses and electrical connector.





8. Connect the evaporative emissions return tube to the bottom of the throttle body.
9. Install the throttle inlet tube.
- Tighten the worm clamp.
10. Connect the IAT and the PCV fresh air tube to the throttle air inlet tube.
11. Connect the MAF sensor connector.





12. Install the air cleaner assembly.
1. Connect the air tube.
2. Install the bolts.
13. Connect the battery.
14. Install the engine cover.
