B6 - Check For IDM Short to Ground In Harness

^ Key off.

^ Disconnect ICM from ICM tee, leave EI diagnostic harness connected to vehicle harness connector.

^ DVOM on 20K ohm scale.

^ Measure resistance between J41 (IDM I) and (-) J7 (B-) at breakout box.

^ Is resistance greater than 10K ohms?

YES -- Check connectors, service or replace harness. IDM is shorted to another wire, between ICM and PCM. Remove all test equipment. Reconnect all components. Clear continuous memory. Rerun quick test.

NO -- Check connectors, service or replace harness. IDM is shorted low. Remove all test equipment. Reconnect all components. Clear continuous memory. Rerun quick test.
