Emissions Recall 93E51 - Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement on Certain 1993-Model, 4.9L Engine Equipped Econoline (E250) Trucks in Ryder Truck Rental Service
This letter authorizes Ryder Truck Rental service centers to provide the recall service described on the attachments for the affected 1993-model Econolines.
REASON FOR RECALL SERVICE ACTION
The affected Econoline trucks may exceed Federal emissions standards.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
Approximately 800 1993-Model 4.9L engine equipped Econoline (E250) cutaway trucks having calibration code 3-52K-R10, built at the Lorain Assembly Plant from November 21, 1992, through March 4, 1993.
SERVICE ACTION
Ryder Truck Rental Authorized Service Centers will replace existing powertrain control modules (PCM). Replacement of modules will revise the engine calibration to 3-52A-R10.
The recall service procedures are detailed on attachments to this letter. Ryder Truck Rental centers will provide the service when trucks are scheduled for maintenance at the centers.
A listing of eligible trucks is provided with this letter. Only trucks shown on this listing are to serviced.
