Countershaft: Service and Repair
DISASSEMBLERemove dummy shaft, pilot bearing rollers, bearing spacers and center spacer from countershaft gear.
ASSEMBLE
1. Position long bearing spacer into countershaft gear bore, then insert dummy shaft in spacer.
2. Position gear in vertical position, then install spacer and place 22 pilot roller bearings in gear bore.
3. Position bearing spacer on top of rollers, then install 2 more roller bearings and another bearing spacer.
4. Place a large washer against end of countershaft gear to prevent rollers from dropping out then turn assembly over.
5. Install rollers and spacers in other end of countershaft gear.
