Park/Neutral Position Switch

The Park/Neutral Position Switch switch as used on automatic transmissions is transmission-mounted and permits the vehicle to start only in the park or neutral positions.

The switch is multi-functional in that it not only permits the vehicle to start in neutral or park, but acts as a back-up lamp switch and also controls range shifting in vehicles equipped with electronic shift transfer cases.
