Canister Purge Control Valve: Description and Operation

The canister purge solenoid is part of the evaporative emission system and is used with the electronic engine control. This valve controls the flow of vapors from the carbon canister to the intake manifold during various engine operating modes. The CPRV valve is normally closed, it is opened by a signal from the electronic control assembly (ECA).
