SUBJECT: Emissions Recall 90E86 - 1988 and 1989-Model 7.5L Engine Equipped E and F-Series Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valves

CLAIM SUBMISSION - REFER TO WARRANTY AND POLICY MANUAL SECTION 8.0


VEHICLES Certain 1988 and 1989-Model 7.5L engine equipped E-250/350
AFFECTED and F-250/350 trucks were identified by warranty records
as probably having incorrect service valves installed. An incorrect valve was released for service.

REASON Ford is voluntarily recalling the affected vehicles to
FOR RECALL help assure acceptable levels of exhaust emissions. This
will be achieved by replacing the incorrect service installed exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valves.

VEHICLE The enclosed listing identifies involved trucks that,
ELIGIBILITY according to warranty records probably had incorrect
service valves installed by your dealership. Owners of affected trucks will be notified with a letter shown on Attachment I or II.

CARES/OASIS To determine if a vehicle is eligible, you must utilize
"CARES" (Computer Assisted Recall System) or "OASIS" (On-Line Automotive Service Information System).

DEALER Dealers are obligated to perform the recall service promptly
OBLIGATION following tender of the vehicles by the owners. It is
important that you report, to your FPSD District Office, any instance in which an owner will not allow you to complete this recall service because of objections to scheduling or for any other reason.
