1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove ashtray and retainer assembly, Fig. 10.
3. Remove cluster finish panel by unsnapping retainers.
4. Remove cluster retaining screws Fig. 10.
5. Pull cluster rearward, then disconnect speedometer cable and electrical connectors. It may be necessary to disconnect the speedometer cable from the transmission and wiring harness in the engine corn partment
6. Remove cluster.
7. Remove steering column opening cover, then remove the instrument panel to brake and clutch pedal support attaching screw.
8. Remove steering column upper and lower shrouds.
9. Disconnect wiring from steering column switches, Fig. 11.
10. Remove righthand and lefthand cowl side trim covers, Fig. 11.
11. Remove righthand and lefthand lower corner instrument panel to cowl side retaining bolts.
12. Remove righthand lower insulator, if equipped.
13. Remove hood opening cable from instrument panel.
14. Remove screws retaining top of panel.
15. Support panel assembly, then disconnect wiring, vacuum lines, antenna, heater and A/C control cables.
16. Reverse procedure to install.
