Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

Fig 9 Front Wiper Motor Replacement:

FRONT

1. Cycle wiper motor and position wiper blades in mid-position of travel.
2. Disconnect wiper motor electrical connector, then note position of wiper arms and remove arms from pivots.
3. Remove cowl grille attaching screws, then cowl grille.
4. Remove linkage retaining clip, then disassemble linkage from motor crank arm.
5. Remove wiper motor retaining nuts, Fig. 9, then wiper motor.
6. Reverse procedure to install

REAR


1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove wiper arm and blade assembly.
3. Remove wiper motor shaft attaching nut and wedge block, Fig. 10, then remove liftgate trim panel.
4. Disconnect electrical connector from wiper motor and motor wiring pins from inner panel, then remove wiper motor from vehicle.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Before installing wiper arm and blade assembly, cycle wiper motor to park position to ensure correct installation.
