SUSPENSION - REAR UNDERBODY COMPONENTS, - MIS-SET RIVETS INSPECTION

LIGHT TRUCK: 1988-89 AEROSTAR

ISSUE: TSB Article 88-12-21 described the introduction of rivets in addition to welding to increase suspension capacity. Occasionally mis-set rivets will occur in production. The mis-set rivet will be repaired in the manufacturing plant.

ACTION: When an Aerostar with a mis-set rivet is encountered, the figures on pages 34 and 35 can be used to identify the in plant repair. Dealers can assure customers that the vehicle structure integrity is okay.
