Assemble rod to piston with notch on piston dome on the same side as button on connecting rod, Fig. 10. When installing piston and connecting rod assembly in engine, notch on piston dome must face front. After installing connecting and piston assembly, check connecting rod side clearance. Connecting rod side clearance should be .006 to .014 inch.
