- OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR FIXED AND FLIPPER GLASS LIFTGATE DOORS
LIGHT TRUCKS 1984 BRONCO II
The following information is being published so that all Service Technicians and Sales Personnel may become familiar with the correct opening and closing instructions for the new lock-out feature incorporated in the 1984 Bronco II - liftgate doors.
Liftgate Door - Fixed Glass (Standard Production)
To open the liftgate door (with fixed glass) fully insert the oval headed key into the door handle and rotate the handle "clockwise" in direction of arrow on the handle.
CAUTION: DO NOT ROTATE THE LIFTGATE HANDLE "COUNTER-CLOCKWISE" AS THE SYSTEM DOES NOT FUNCTION IN THIS MODE.
Liftgate Door - Flipper Window (Optional)
A new lockout feature prevents opening the liftgate door when the window is open, or opening the window when the liftgate door is open.
CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FORCE/OVER-RIDE THIS LOCKOUT FEATURE, OR DAMAGE MAY OCCUR.
To Open Liftgate Door (With Flipper Window)
Assure that "flipper window" is closed. Fully insert key into the handle and rotate the handle "clockwise" in direction per arrow marked "Gate".
To Open Flipper Window (Liftgate Door Closed)
Fully insert the key into the handle and rotate the handle "counter-clockwise" in direction per arrow marked "Glass".
Closing Liftgate Door/Window
Close liftgate door/window to fully latched condition and remove the key. The liftgate door/window will be in locked mode.
