CARES/OASIS: YOU MUST USE CARES OR OASIS TO DETERMINE IF A VEHICLE IS ELIGIBLE FOR THIS RECALL.


PLEASE NOTE: CORRECT ALL USED VEHICLES IN STOCK.



PROMPTLY CORRECT: Affected vehicles on the enclosed list. Other eligible vehicles which are brought to your dealership.



DEALER-OWNER CONTACT: Immediately contact any owner that you may know of whose name is not on the list. Give the owner a copy of the Owner Letter.



DISTRICT CONTACT: Advise district office if:


- an owner cannot be contacted.


- an owner does not make a service date.



FPSD CONTACT: Talk with your FPSD Service Zone Manager about recall concerns.



REIMBURSEMENT: Submit 1864 claims using the 1864 format on the DWE system.



CLAIMS PREPARATION: See Sections 6.3 (pages 6 through 8) and 8.0 of your Warranty and Policy Manual.

Owners will no longer receive Recall Claim Form 1864

- Use CARES or OASIS To check for open recalls.

- Use a written repair order for file records.

- For DWE claims, use the 1864 format on the DWE screen. (See Warranty and Policy Manual, Section
6.3, page 7).

- Inform service and warranty claims personnel of these changes.



IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS RECALL


DEPENDING ON THE ENGINE CALIBRATION AND THE TYPE OF CHASSIS FRAME, THERE ARE FIVE DIFFERENT MODIFICATION KITS TO BE USED IN THIS RECALL


REFER TO ATTACHMENTS II AND III


ORDER THE CORRECT MODIFICATION KIT PART FOR THE TRUCK BEING SERVICED


FRAME TYPES CAN BE VISUALLY IDENTIFIED USING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:


* A STANDARD FRAME IS OPEN AND HAS A "C" CROSS-SECTION


* A HEAVY DUTY FRAME HAS AN ADDITIONAL PIECE INSIDE THE "C" CROSS-SECTION AND IS OFTEN CALLED A BOX FRAME


THE ABOVE INFORMATION APPLIES TO F-SERIES TRUCKS ONLY. THE TYPE OF FRAME DETERMINES THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CARBON CANISTER MOUNTING BRACKETS, HOSE CONNECTIONS, AND ATTACHING PARTS. THESE PARTS ARE PROVIDED IN THE APPROPRIATE KITS. INFORM YOUR PARTS AND SERVICE PERSONNEL.
