Ignition Timing - Poor Mileage/Lack of Power

CALIBRATIONS: 4-64Z-R00 (Altitude)
The subject concerns may be due to ignition timing.
To resolve these concerns, the following procedure is recommended:
1. Advance initial ignition timing from 10~ BTDC to 14~ BTDC by referring to procedure outlined in the 1984 Truck Shop Manual, Section 23-01.
2. With a Sharpie #49 pen (or equivalent), update the initial timing specification, located on the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal, from 10~ BTDC to 14~ BTDC.
3. Obtain and install Ford Authorized Modifications decal, denoting the above change, This will update calibrations 4-64Z-R00 to 4-64Z-R10 level.
Obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
