The routing of the EEC IV wiring harness on the above vehicles may cause the throttle position (TP) sensor connector wire to contact the carburetor spacer. This will cause deterioration of the wiring and possibly other drive concerns such as poor idle, lack of power, poor economy, etc. which may be itermittent and/or continuous.

To service the above concerns check the condition and position of the TP sensors connector wiring. If the connector and wiring is found as shown in Figure 28 perform the following:
1. Perform EEC IV Quick Test. Service as required.
2. If the Quick Test indicates a pass, visually inspect the wiring for any deterioration or melting. Service as necessary.
3. Tie the TP connector wiring to the EEC IV wiring harness as shown in Figure 28.
