Engine Coolant Bottle Cap Replacement Procedure

^ The engine coolant bottle is located in the right (passenger side) rear corner of the engine compartment near the base of the windshield.

^ Allow the engine to cool down before attempting cap replacement. (Wait overnight or at least until the coolant in the bottle is only warm to the touch).

^ Slowly remove the original cap from the coolant bottle (allowing any pressure to escape from the system before removing it completely). Discard the original cap.

Note:
If the cap is too tight to remove by hand, use a kitchen type jar lid remover or channel-lock pliers to aid in loosening it

^ Remove the shipping tape and foam insert from the new pressure cap enclosed with this letter. Screw the cap onto the coolant bottle, and tighten it as hard as possible by hand to provide a seal between the cap and the coolant bottle.
