Removal/Installation

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support vehicle.
NOTE: Ensure vehicle weight is not supported by front lower control arms.
2. Remove front tire and wheel assemblies.
3. Remove outer tie rod end securing nut, and the tie rod, using suitable tool.
4. Remove three strut to body attaching nuts.
5. Remove securing nuts from bottom of shock absorber.
6. Remove lower shock absorber mounting bolts.
7. To prevent damage, wrap boot, then press down on lower control arm and guide assembly out.

INSTALLATION

1. Position spring/strut assembly on vehicle and finger tighten strut to body nuts.
2. Install lower mounting bolts and nuts, torquing nuts to specifications.
NOTE: Bolts are splined and must not be tightened.
3. Install upper mounting bolts and torque to specifications.
4. Install tie rod end to strut nut and torque to specifications.
5. Install wheel and tire assembly, lower vehicle.
