Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove oil pan drain plug, then drain engine oil.
4. Disconnect exhaust downpipe at exhaust manifold.
5. Disconnect exhaust hanger at converter, then lower pipe.
6. Remove starter.
7. Remove converter/flywheel housing access cover.
8. Remove oil pan attaching bolts, then remove pan and discard gasket.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
