Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Testing and Inspection

1. Place ignition switch in Run position.
2. Connect a jumper wire between coolant temperature switch terminals A and B.
3. If cooling fan operates, replace cooling fan temperature switch.
4. If cooling fan does not operate, check for voltage at cooling fan relay connector terminal 5.
5. If no battery voltage exists, repair open between terminal 5 and ignition switch.
6. If battery voltage exists, test for voltage at fan relay connector terminal 4.
7. If no voltage exists, repair open between terminal 4 and fuse link G.
8. If voltage exists, check for voltage at fan relay connector terminal 2.
9. If voltage exists, repair open to ground.
10. If no voltage exists, check for voltage at cooling fan condenser terminal 1.
11. If no voltage exists, replace cooling fan relay.
12. If voltage exists, inspect connections at cooling fan motor for clean tight fix.
13. If connections are clean and tight, replace cooling fan.
14. If connections are not clean and tight, clean end reconnect connectors.
