Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Testing and Inspection
On models with Bendix Anti-Lock 10, refer to ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM.

COMPENSATOR LIMITER VALVE
1. Ensure that vehicle is unloaded, weight is on tires, one person is on board and fuel tank is full, also rear brake adjustment should be within specifications.
2. Remove bleed screws from right front caliper and left rear wheel cylinder or caliper.
3. Install pressure gauge 7212 or equivalent in each caliper or wheel cylinder in place of bleed screws as shown.
4. Bleed air out through gauge bleed valves, then start engine and observe gauge readings while a helper applies brake pedal, refer to Brakes and Traction Control/Brakes/Specifications/Mechanical.
5. Stop engine, then remove pressure gauges and install bleed screws. Bleed right front caliper and left rear wheel cylinder or caliper prior to continuing, refer to Brakes and Traction Control/Brakes/Service and Repair.
6. Remove bleed screws from left front caliper and right rear wheel cylinder or caliper.
7. Install pressure gauge 7212 or equivalent in each caliper or wheel cylinder in place of bleed screws as shown.
8. Repeat steps 4 and 5, then if gauge readings are within specifications valve is operating properly, if not, replace valve.
