Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions

One of the following characters may appear as a prefix to a fault number. This character can be used as an indication of where the fault was detected.
A---Key in Off position.
B---Key in On position, ECM does not detect crank signal and automatically opens ground circuit to fuel pump relay, disabling fuel pump.
C---Key in On position, fuel pump relay has timed out (fuel pump Off).
D---Engine is cranking but not running.
E---Engine idling.
F---Key in Off position for second time before fuel pump relay has timed out (fuel pump Off).
G---Key in Off position for second time and fuel pump relay has timed out (fuel pump Off).
H---Second key On.
I---Second engine start.
J---Last key Off.
X---ECU defined faults.
