Inner CV Joint Boot Bearing

Fig. 24 Pressing Boot Bearing Onto Shaft:

1. Remove constant velocity joint housing and bearing rollers.
2. Remove bearing snap ring.
3. Press bearing and boot off shaft assembly.
4. Using a suitable press and tool T.Av.944 or equivalent, install bearing and boot.
5. Install snap ring.
6. Press boot and bearing onto shaft until tool T.Av.944 bottoms against shaft. At this point, distance (C), should be approximately 5.85 inches. Do not attempt to install the bearing with a hammer or damage may result.
7. Assemble constant velocity joint.
