Safety Recall # 745 -- Heater Core Bypass Valve
Models:
^ 1988 Model Year Renault Medallion
^ 1989 Model Year Eagle Medallion
The heater core on the above listed vehicles, may fail due to prolonged exposure to high temperature engine cooling system fluid. Heater core failure will allow cooling system steam to discharge into the passenger compartment which may reduce driver visibility. To correct this condition, a coolant temperature controlled heater core fluid bypass valve must be installed.
IMPORTANT:
Some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer used vehicle inventory. Dealers should complete this recall service on these vehicles before retail delivery. Dealers should also perform this recall on vehicles in for service as determined by using DIAL System Function 70.
