1. Remove the sunroof tray assembly as follows:

A. Disconnect all four drain tubes (K) (Figure 7 & 8).
B. Remove the retaining nuts that secure the sunroof tray to the roof and remove the sunroof tray (L) (Figure 8).

C. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

D. Disconnect the electrical connector at the motor.

2. Using a screwdriver, release the headliner springs (T) (Figure 11) from the guides and slide them off to remove them.
3. Remove the interior light assembly as described on page 59 of the M.R. 290 workshop manual (Publication No. 8980 010 519).

4. Remove the sun visors.

5. Remove the finishing frame (G) (Figure 5).

CAUTION: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE FINISHING FRAME, THE SEAL IS VERY DELICATE.

6. Remove the headliner.

NOTE: THE HEADLINER IS FASTENED TO THE SUNROOF WITH "VELCRO" STRIPS AND GLUE. THERE ARE TWO FASTENING AREAS (FIGURE 6).
H. Use a sharp tool to release the glue in the flange area of the sunroof tray.

J. Unfasten the velcro stripes that secure the headliner to the sunroof tray.

7. To install, reverse the above procedure.
