W/ Air Conditioning

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove lefthand and righthand rocker trim panels.
3. Disconnect instrument panel wiring at A-pillars.
4. Disconnect ground cables at rocker sills.
5. Disconnect fuse panel and door buzzer.
6. Remove screws retaining lower instrument panel cover to instrument panel, then cover.
7. Disconnect speedometer cable from speedometer head.
8. Remove console retaining screws.
9. Open glove box door and pull edge of console out to free it from instrument panel.
10. On models equipped with manual transaxle, pry off shifter boot cover with screwdriver.
11. On models equipped with automatic transaxle, remove shift lever knob by pulling straight up.
12. Remove shift indicator bezel.
13. On all models, remove four inner console retaining screws.
14. Pull lower section of console straight back, then lift up to remove it.
15. Pull upper section down and out of instrument panel.

16. Remove radio trim retaining screws.

17. Using a 5/32 inch drill bit, remove rivets (B) from both sides of radio, then remove anti-theft brackets (C).
18. Remove retaining screw from heater control.
19. Remove heater control knobs by pulling straight up.
20. Lower heater control panel, then disconnect the two cables and electrical connections.

Cruise Control Commutator Brush Wire Location:





21. Remove upper and lower steering column covers. On vehicles equipped with cruise control, pull down wire (B), located on the forward edge of the lower cover. This will pull the spring loaded commutator brush back into its housing. If the commutator brush is not pulled into its housing before the lower cover is removed, the brush will be broken off.
22. Remove bolt and nut at steering joint connection under dash.
23. Remove four hex head bolts and one large Torx head bolt holding steering column in place.
24. Pull steering column forward slightly, then column will drop down.
25. Disconnect steering column wiring harness from dash harness.
26. Remove steering column.
27. Remove attaching bolts at each corner of dash panel, then remove dash panel assembly.
28. Clamp off heater hoses in engine compartment.
29. Disconnect heater hoses from heater core.
30. Remove heater blower housing to the cowl panel.
31. Remove heater blower housing by pulling it rearward.
32. Remove two retaining screws that retain heater core to blower housing.
33. Spread the four retaining clips, then remove heater core assembly.
34. Reverse procedure to install.
