Rear
NOTE: Before removing wheel bearing check bearing axial play. Bolt a dial indicator onto the rear brake drum using dial indicator adapter Rou. 541 or equivalent. Measure axial play at the end of the axle shaft. Axial play should not exceed 0.001 inch. If measurement obtained exceeds specification, replace brake drum hub bearing.REMOVAL
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove wheel(s).
3. Remove screws attaching brake drum to axle shaft hub.
4. Remove brake drum from axle shaft hub.
5. Using a suitable screwdriver, remove plastic hub cover.
6. Remove axle shaft hub locknut.
7. Remove axle shaft hub from axle shaft. If necessary use tool T.Av. 1050 or equivalent, to remove hub.

8. Remove bearing retaining clip (F) from machined groove (G) on axle shaft hub. Using a suitable section of pipe (H, approximately 1.92 inch/49 mm outside diameter) and a press, remove wheel bearing (E) from hub.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Do not install a used bearing. When installing bearing onto axle shaft hub, do not apply press load directly to the center bearing race. Apply load to the outer portion of the bearing only.
1. Thoroughly clean hub assembly.

2. Using a suitable press and a section of pipe (A, approximately 2 inches/51 mm in diameter), press bearing (B) into hub assembly.
3. Install a new bearing retaining clip.
4. Lightly lubricate axle shaft and install axle shaft hub onto axle shaft.
5. Install and tighten a new axle shaft hub locknut.
6. Install brake drum and attaching screws.
7. Install plastic hub cover.
8. Install wheel(s).
9. Check brakes from proper operation.
10. Lower vehicle.
