1. Coat square cut piston seal with clean brake fluid, then install seal into piston bore. Work seal into groove with clean fingers.
2. Install bleeder screw and plastic cap.
3. Lubricate dust seal and tool J-24387 with clean brake fluid, then place dust seal on tool, allowing 1/4 inch of tool to extend past small lip of dust seal.
4. Place dust seal and tool over piston bore, then work large lip of dust seal into seal groove. Ensure dust seal is fully seated.
5. Lubricate caliper piston and insert through tool. Center piston in bore and use a hammer handle to apply pressure to install piston halfway into bore,. On some models, disc brake caliper pistons may develop a light coating of rust under the dust seal and outboard of the piston seal. This rust may cause the piston to not fully retract. Before installing piston, apply a light coating of dielectric compound 8126688, or equivalent, to caliper piston bore.
6. Remove tool J-24387 and seat small lip of dust seal in caliper piston groove, then bottom piston in bore.
