Power Steering Pump - Installation

INSTALLATION





1. Position power steering pump (2) on engine.
2. Install three power steering pump mounting bolts (1). Tighten mounting bolts to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.).





3. Install supply hose (2) on fitting of power steering pump (1). Install hose clamp on return hose past upset bead on pump fitting.






NOTE: The pressure hose quick-connect is a one-time use component and must be replaced anytime the pressure hose is disconnected at the power steering pump. It cannot be removed from the pressure hose once installed.

4. Install power steering pressure hose (2) and quick-connect. Power Steering Hose - Installation

5. Install accessory drive belt. Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Installation.
6. Install air cleaner.
7. Connect the battery negative (-) cable to battery negative battery terminal.
8. Fill and bleed power steering system. Power Steering System Bleeding
9. Check for leaks.
