A/C Liquid Line - Description

DESCRIPTION

The A/C liquid line is the refrigerant line that goes from the A/C condenser to the A/C evaporator. The A/C liquid line is made from light-weight aluminum tubing with braze-less and crimp type fittings and nylon tubes with rubber barrier hose Heating and Air Conditioning Plumbing - Description.

The A/C liquid line contains the A/C variable orifice valve (VOV) and includes the high side service port.

NOTE: Replacement of the refrigerant line O-ring seals is required anytime a refrigerant line is disconnected. Failure to replace the rubber O-ring seals may result in a refrigerant system leak.

The A/C liquid line has no serviceable parts except for the O-ring seals, high-side service port valve and cap. The O-ring seals used on the connections are made from a special type of rubber not affected by R-134a refrigerant. The O-ring seals must be replaced whenever the A/C liquid line is disconnected.

The A/C liquid line cannot be repaired and must be replaced if leaking or damaged, or if the A/C variable orifice valve is inoperative.
