Integrated Control Unit (ICU) - Removal
REMOVAL
NOTE: Before proceeding, review Warnings and Cautions. Service Precautions Service Precautions
1. Using a brake pedal holder (3), depress the brake pedal (6) past its first one inch of travel and hold it in this position. This will isolate the master cylinder from the brake hydraulic system and will not allow the brake fluid to drain out of the master cylinder reservoir.
2. Disconnect battery negative (-) terminal and isolate cable.
3. Raise and support vehicle. Service and Repair
4. Remove left front tire and wheel assembly. Tires and Wheels - Removal
5. Remove access panel in forward portion of left front wheel well.
6. Remove belly pan front extension. Front Extension Belly Pan - Removal
7. Pull outward on connector lock (1) and disconnect 24-way wiring connector (2) at CAB.
8. Remove three chassis brake tubes (2, 4, 6) going to brakes at ICU.
9. Remove primary (1) and secondary (3) brake tubes coming from master cylinder at ICU.
10. Remove three bolts (3) attaching ICU (4) to mounting bracket (1).
11. Remove ICU (4) from vehicle.
12. If CAB and HCU must be separated, Integrated Control Unit (ICU) - Disassembly.
