SYMPTOM
P1719 - SKIP SHIFT SOLENOID CIRCUIT OPEN OR SHORTED

WHEN MONITORED
Engine at operating temperature, engine RPM above 608 rpm, vehicle speed at 12-18 MPH, transmission in first gear with a light to moderate throttle. The PCM will lock out 2nd and 3rd gears, only allowing a shift to 4th for fuel economy.

SET CONDITION
The Skip Shift Solenoid Control circuit is not in the expected state when requested to operate by the PCM. The PCM operates the solenoid by supplying a ground path to the Skip Shift Solenoid.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Intermittent wiring and connectors conditions
- Open fused ignition switch output circuit
- Open skip shift solenoid control circuit
- Fused ignition switch output circuit shorted to ground
- Skip shift solenoid control circuit short to ground
- Skip shift solenoid (resistance out of range)
