NOTE: Before proceeding, review all SERVICE WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS.REMOVAL
1. Raise vehicle on jackstands or centered on a frame contact type hoist.
2. Remove front wheel and tire assemblies.
3. Remove the nuts attaching the stabilizer bar attaching links to the stabilizer bar.
Stabilizer Bar Removal From Attaching Link:
CAUTION: Use only Puller, Special Tool MB991113, to remove the attaching link from the stabilizer bar. Use of a pickle fork or other alternate tool will damage the seal and ball joints on attaching link.
4. Remove the stabilizer bar from the attaching link, using Puller, Special Tool MB991113.

5. Remove the 4 bolts attaching the stabilizer bar retainers to the upper frame rails.
6. Remove stabilizer bar from vehicle out through either left or right inner fender area.
INSTALLATION
1. If inspection of stabilizer bar assembly determined that stabilizer bar to frame rail bushings require replacement, install new bushings by first removing old bushing from stabilizer bar. This is done by opening the slit and peeling the bushing from control arm. Then, thoroughly clean stabilizer bar in area of bushing contact. Install new bushings on stabilizer bar by opening the slit and wrapping the bushing around the stabilizer bar, positioning it against the retainer ring on the stabilizer bar.
2. Install stabilizer bar assembly back into vehicle in reverse order of removal through wheel opening.
3. Position bushing retainers on stabilizer bar bushings, then install retainer bolts into frame rails.
4. Install the stabilizer bar on the stabilizer bar attaching links. Install the stabilizer bar attaching link to stabilizer bar attaching nuts. Tighten the stabilizer bar link attaching nuts to a torque of 22 Nm (200 inch lbs.).
5. Tighten the 4 stabilizer bar bushing retainer to frame rail attaching bolts to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the wheel and tire assembly. Tighten the wheel mounting stud nuts in proper sequence until all nuts are torqued to half specification. Then, repeat the tightening sequence to the full specified torque of 122 Nm (90 ft. lbs.).
7. Lower vehicle.
